WRITTEN LIMITED WARRANTY

Note: 8 Concepts Australia PTY LTD will handle all warranty claims on behalf of BDI Australia.

BDI Australia warrants to the original purchaser that for the below stated warranty term, they will repair or replace any product, part, or component covered by this warranty which fails under normal use as a result of a defect in material or workmanship; BDI Australia will repair or replace the aforementioned product, part or component with a comparable product, part or component. The decision to repair or replace will be at BDI Australia’s sole discretion. This document inclusively describes all of the warranties given and remedies available with respect to BDI’s products. BDI Australia disclaims any other warranty, whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise, in relation to its products. To exercise your rights under this warranty, purchaser must submit a copy of the original sales receipt when making a claim.

The warranty period starts from the date of purchase, as reflected on original sales receipt. This warranty extends only to the original purchasers who acquire new product from BDI Australia or BDI Australia’s Authorized Resellers. Any product, part, or component must have been assembled, installed, used, and maintained according to BDI’s published instructions in order to be eligible for warranty coverage. Any modification to the original product voids the warranty.

If you notice a manufacturing defect, it is important that you promptly notify BDI Australia or the BDI Australia Authorized Retailer from whom you purchased the product.

After notification, it may be necessary for BDI Australia to arrange for an inspection of the product, or receipt of photographs, to determine the nature of the issue and whether a manufacturing defect exists. These are your exclusive remedies under BDI Australia’s warranty.

 

WARRANTY TERMS

Residential Use: BDI Furnishings carry warranty coverage for three (3) years from the date of product delivery, as shown on your sales receipt/documentation.

Commercial Use: BDI Furnishings carry warranty coverage for one (1) year from the date of product delivery, as shown on your sales receipt/documentation. 

 

LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS

While BDI Australia believes its warranty is a good one, there are some limits to it. The following things will limit or exclude coverage under this warranty:

Place of Purchase

This warranty protects you only when you purchase factory-new BDI products from BDI Australia or an Authorized BDI Retailer.

 

Floor Samples and/or Products purchased “AS IS”

This warranty does not cover floor samples or products designated “AS IS” at the time of purchase.

 

Improper Care and Use

Your BDI product requires some routine care & maintenance, as indicated on the Assembly Instructions that accompanies each product in its original BDI packaging. Proper care and use are essential not only to extend the product’s useful life but to preserve your rights under this warranty. BDI Australia will not repair or replace products where improper maintenance or use has caused damage. This warranty does not apply if your BDI product is damaged by the use of detergents, abrasives or other harsh cleaning agents.

 

Differences from Floor Samples or Literature

Due to the use of natural materials in BDI products, minor variations can occur from piece to piece. This warranty does not cover such minor differences, or differences between floor samples or printed illustrations and your furniture.

 

BDI AUSTRALIA DOES NOT WARRANT:

 

natural variations in wood grain or figure, or the presence of character marks

changes in surface finishes due to aging or prolonged exposure to direct sunligh 

failure resulting from normal wear and tear

the matching of colors, grains, or textures of natural materials

damage, marking or staining of veneer surfaces due to contact with rubber or similar compounds; damage from sharp objects or imprinting from writing instruments

damage resulting from negligence, abuse or accidents, including burns, cuts, scratches, tears, scuffs, watermarks, indentations or pet damage

damage resulting from exposure to extreme environmental conditions or improper storage

 

CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES

 

BDI AUSTRALIA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.

By this BDI Australia means any loss, expense or damage other than to the product itself that may result from a defect in the product.

 

YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary in different areas of the country. Except for such other rights, the remedies provided under this warranty state the limit of BDI Australia’s responsibilities.

 

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

All products ship with detailed assembly instructions. Most current BDI designs also have a link on their individual Web page on the BDI USA Web site, where you can download a copy of the Assembly Instructions.

 

MANUFACTURING

BDI’s innovative products are designed and engineered at the BDI corporate headquarters in the Washington, DC suburb of Chantilly, VA. The products are manufactured with great care at partner factories around the World.

 

VARIATIONS IN WOOD GRAIN AND STAIN COLOUR

BDI’s designs which feature wood are constructed of natural wood and hardwood veneers. Wood products, by their very nature, will sometimes have variations in finish and wood grain from one piece of furniture to the next. This is to be expected with any wood product, and this variability is part of the natural beauty of the product. Small blemishes are inherent in wood and are not considered flaws.

 

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS

Unfortunately, BDI does not currently offer customization and cannot accommodate individual requests for size, finish or material modifications.
